About Us
Since 2020, Kaizer Community has been devoted to providing therapeutic home care services across Southeast Queensland and Far North Queensland. We strive to build a community and meaningful connections with kin so children and young people have a sense of belonging and can identify with significant people in their lives long after our care.
Kaizer seeks to create an environment of belonging and opportunities to thrive by providing residential care services to children and teenagers, and a supportive workplace for our talented residential youth workers and team.
Residential Care Program
Our residential care program assists children and young people through all areas of their development, from housing to personal growth, life skills, and community building. We want young people to thrive and to live their lives to their full potential.
We recognise that everyone is different and facing unique challenges. Our youth workers strive to build a genuine connection with our young people so that we can understand their journey and provide the best guidance and opportunities to reach their goals and create future independence in a way that suits them.
Our Residential Youth Workers & Professional Team
Our team of qualified youth work professionals is central to our goal and high standards of care. They are highly trained in our Kaizer Community Practice Approach and adhere to our strict practice guidelines when interacting with young people, the community, and other organisations to ensure the best outcomes for care and support for our young people.
We recognise the need for ongoing professional development for youth workers and the importance of providing a supportive, culturally diverse and inclusive environment where our staff feel comfortable with open communication and feedback.
We have several formal and informal structures to facilitate this culture at Kaizer Community, including monthly team workshops and training, employee peer recognition programs, and an employee assistance program. Employee consultation and feedback are also essential to us.

Our Community Practice Approach
Our Community Practice Approach encapsulates our collective understanding of working with children, young people, their families, kin, and cultures. This approach is a common language used across all Kaizer locations and services.
Guided by the latest research in residential care and youth and family work, our approach is shaped by our values of resilience, cultural inclusion, integrity, safety, and professional relationships. It aligns with Queensland’s Hope and Healing Framework for Working with Children and Young People in Residential Care, which is part of the broader National Principles for Child Safe Organisations by the Australian Human Rights Commission.
The approach was developed after a company-wide discussion involving Kaizer staff from various roles and locations and senior leadership in a reflective half-day session. The current approach reflects the collective insights and expressions of our staff.
Our Values
Kaizer strives to provide young people with a safe and supportive environment to thrive and build future independence, and to allow our staff and youth workers an opportunity to make a difference. Our values of resilience, cultural inclusion, integrity, safety, and professional relationships are central to this.
